Write to win

We’re looking for fans to report on their teams on the road to Istanbul. Enter our Champions Journalist competition for the chance to win great prizes

Ever wanted to write about your team? Well, now’s your chance. We want supporters from every side in the last 16 of this season’s Champions League to be our Champions Journalist fan reporters for the knockout stage. And perhaps beyond: many of our winners from previous seasons have gone on to write more articles for the magazine and our website.

To enter you need to write a story of 400 words or less about your team. Perhaps you want to tell us why you began supporting them, or their most memorable Champions League match you’ve seen live. Maybe it’s memories of a favourite player, your matchday routine, your club’s best chant or your all-time favourite kit. What we don’t want is a straight match report; what we do want is whatever catches your imagination. Go beyond the 90 minutes – and make sure it gets to us by 27 January 2023.

Our 16 winners will have their articles published on our website, while the best could even be published in the magazine. We will then ask you to write a piece about the home leg of every game your team plays until they are knocked out, with each of those also finding a home on our homepage. Good luck!
